KISStory: March 11, 2000 FAREWELL Tour Opens

Kiss opened their Farewell Tour on this day in 2000 at the Desert Sky Pavilion in Phoenix AZ. Ticket sales for this show were 14,584 sold out of 19,586 tickets available. The North American leg (total of 5 legs) was the only portion of the tour to feature all four original members of Kiss. The tour played 142 shows with one cancellation. The tour began in Phoenix, AZ., on March 11, 2000 and ended on April 13, 2001 on Australia's Gold Coast at Carrara Stadium before 20,457 fans. The June 27, 2000 show at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ was taped for the pay-per-view titled, "One Last Kiss."

Peter Criss' last show with Kiss was in North Charleston, South Carolina on October 7, 2000, destroying his drum kit at th end of the show. This was the final date of the North American tour. Drummer Eric Singer came back into the band, playing out the rest of the tour in Australia and Japan. Kiss largest attendance was at Tokyo Dome (1 show) on March 11, 2001 with 41, 895 (sold out) and the lowest at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT., with 3,162 (sold out).
